Local government cooperation project "Kashima Project"

Based on a mutual cooperation agreement with Saga Prefecture’s Kashima City, Saga University launched the Kashima Project in 2020 as a municipal cooperation project to address local issues in Kashima, such as the regeneration and preservation of the townscape, protection of the natural environment, preservation and transmission of culture and traditional performing arts, and promotion of tourism. As the only national university in Saga Prefecture, Saga University is working to revitalize the region by working with local government and industry to address regional issues and to improve its educational and research capabilities with the participation of all faculties. A website introducing the Kashima Project project was launched late last year.
