Saga University Takes Second Place at Summer Dance Festival

Posted on September 7, 2011

“Sakae no Kuni Matsuri,” Saga’s annual summer festival, was held on August 7th. The 120-member Saga University team, which included 30 international students, participated in the dance finale, the most important performance of the festival.

As in previous years, team members wore blue yukatas or happi coats and gave a spectacular performance. The joyful dancing of the international students helped to enliven the festival, and spectators showed their appreciation with rousing applause.

For its cheerful dancing, the Saga University team was awarded second place in the over-all competition. The result also demonstrates just how deeply rooted the University is in the local community.
