2011 SPACE Program Holds Entrance Ceremony

The 2011 Entrance Ceremony of the Saga University SPACE program was held on Monday, October 3rd at University Hall.

SPACE is a one-year exchange program designed for international students from overseas universities that have an exchange agreement with Saga University. SPACE accepts up to 20 students every year. This year 16 students from Korea, China, France and Thailand are enrolled in the program.

Following an address by Saga University President Dr. Takao Hotokebuchi, Teruyoshi Yanagida, Director of the International Student Center, offered words of welcome. Dr. Akira Nakajima, Director of Research and International and Social Contribution, and deans of all the faculties then introduced themselves and offered words of warm welcome.

Finally, the students did their best to introduce themselves in Japanese and detail their hopes and goals for the coming year in Saga.
