International Students Visit President in Halloween Costumes

Posted on December 8, 2010

A Halloween Party was held on November 19th and 33 international students in unique Halloween costumes visited President Takao Hotokebuchi, saying “Trick or Treat!”

Organized by Syuya Koyama, a senior student of the Faculty of Culture and Education, the party was held to enhance the exchange between Japanese students and international students. Mr. Koyama said, “One of the aims of the party was stimulating the exchange between international students and Japanese students through all the preparation process, not just the party itself. The main focus was sharing time together and cooperating with each other toward a common goal: giving the President a handmade diary. I wanted them to have heart-to-heart communication with each other.”

In return for their present, President Hotokebuchi gave some sweets to each one of the students. In fact, President Hotokebuchi prepared them beforehand to surprise the students. The President said to the students, “I’m glad that international students always give me warm and cheerful greetings.”
