Undergraduate Programs

Faculty of Culture and Education

Goals
The Faculty of Culture and Education offers four major programs: School Education, International Studies of Culture, Human Life and Environment, and Arts and Crafts. Our comprehensive, well-balanced curriculum provides students not only with professional expertise but also with integrated knowledge.
School Education Course
Goals
Our goal is to develop professional educators with a social and global perspective, wide-ranging knowledge, and a practical understanding of how to deal with current complex educational issues. To secure the professional competence of our graduates, we provide specialized coursework in educational methods and enhanced teaching practice.
Objectives
We foster professionally competent prospective teachers by providing a thorough grounding in social, historical and psychological theory as well as a practical understanding of how to deal with contemporary complex educational issues.
International Studies of Culture Course
Goals
Our goal is to offer students a thorough grounding in the liberal arts so that they will gain a wide range of academic abilities, and, through intensive language education, a high level of linguistic competence and a deep knowledge of cultural values from a global perspective.
Objectives
We encourage students to develop a deep knowledge of cultural values from a global perspective and to be active in a variety of fields both domestically and abroad.
Human Life and Environment Course
Goals
Our goal is to provide students with a wide range of theoretical and practical knowledge concerning techniques and characteristics of physical and cognitive development, regional life, culture, and environments so that they can assume leadership roles in creating a better quality of life.
Objectives
We equip students with the knowledge to realize an earth-friendly, people-friendly, healthy and comfortable life and with the ability to deal with rapid changes in living environments in an age of globalization, information technology, and aging societies.
Arts and Crafts Course
Goals
Our goal is to train students for professional careers as art teachers, designers, or corporate employees in diverse fields by providing theoretical and practical education in the field of arts and crafts.
Objectives
Our educational objectives are as follows:
  1. To encourage students to understand the basic philosophy of arts and crafts and develop their intellect so as to enable them to think and act creatively from a broad point of view. Our graduates will have the knowledge and skills they will need in their professional careers as educators.
  2. To train professional educators, artists, and corporate employees.

Faculty of Economics

Goals
The Faculty of Economics is committed to providing training that will give students the skills they will need to analyze and solve the problems of modern society. We provide students with academic knowledge of the social sciences mainly in the fields of economics, management, and law so as to help them comprehensively understand structure and change in the contemporary economic world.
Department of Economic Systems

Our goal is to develop in our students comprehensive reasoning about the increasing globalization of international society and contemporary economic and social structures by giving them a broad perspective and professional expertise.

Department of Business and Law

Our goal is to teach our students the norms of corporate management, accounting, and social law so that they will have a broad perspective and professional expertise in business management and legal administration.

Faculty of Medicine

Basic Principles
It is the guiding principle of the Faculty of Medicine, as a highly advanced regional medical center, to contribute substantively to the development of medical science, nursing, and the improvement of regional health services. We are dedicated to carrying out a tripartite mission of providing superior medical education by conducting quality research, rendering first-rate services in comprehensive medical diagnosis and treatment, and training professionals capable of meeting the often-changing needs of modern society.
Institutes of Medicine
Goals
The Institute of Medicine aims to educate and train physicians who, in their creative practice of medicine, will be capable of grasping problems they encounter not only from a science-based medical point of view but also from a bioethical and sociocultural point of view.
Objectives
Our educational objectives are as follows:
  1. To foster and develop high ethical standards and to enrich humanity by building strong interpersonal relationships.
  2. To impart a broad range of medical knowledge and skills and to foster independent learning.
  3. To develop scientific, logical thinking and essential problem-solving skills.
  4. To help students understand the significance of local medical services and practice medicine with a broad, global vision.
Institutes of Nursing
Goals
The Institute of Nursing aims to educate and train nursing professionals who have a high regard for nursing ethics, who are capable of dealing with health-related problems in a holistic manner, and who are able to solve such problems with expertise and flexibility.
Objectives
Our educational objectives are as follows:
  1. To cultivate a rich sensibility and build an attitude of respect for others.
  2. To help provide the knowledge and care-giving skills appropriate to the practice of nursing.
  3. To develop independent thinking and problem-solving skills to deal with various issues in nursing.
  4. To help students contribute to community medical welfare activities by providing expertise in nursing with a broad vision.

Goals
The Faculty of Science and Engineering is committed to providing students with broad and deep academic knowledge as well as expertise in science and engineering so that they will be successful in their professional careers in a diverse range of fields.
Department of Mathematics

We provide students with advanced specialized knowledge and technical training in the fields of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences that will enable them to become superior educators, engineers, and researchers who can play a significant role in society at large.

Department of Physics

We provide students with the academic skills that support the modern scientific and technological advancements necessary for a broad understanding of natural phenomena and foster the sort of flexible thinking that will enable them to play an active role in a variety of fields.

Goals
The Faculty of Agriculture is committed to providing students with comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge of agriculture and agriculture-related fields that will enable them to comprehend and deal with diverse social demands.
Department of Applied Biological Sciences

We provide students with a scientific understanding of living organisms so that they may improve and use them to the benefit of their community.

Department of Environmental Sciences
1. Environmental Protection Course
We provide students with a deep understanding of the environment and ecosystems so that they can benefit their community through conservation and regeneration.
2. Agrobiology & Agro-Production Systems Course
We provide students with a thorough grounding in bioscience and both a theoretical and a practical understanding of production information science so that they can contribute to environmentally friendly food production.
3. Community Development Course
Through fieldwork based educational research, we provide students with the ability to contribute to building sustainable communities in the Asia-Pacific region.

Curriculum Studies Course
