Consul General of India in Fukuoka pays a courtesy visit to President Kodama

On June 4, Saga University received a courtesy visit from a delegation of three members, including Mr. Ramkumar C., Consul General of India in Fukuoka, Mr. Amar Pal Meena, Consul General of India in Fukuoka.

The delegation visited the President’s Office, where they were warmly received by President Prof. Dr. KODAMA Hiroaki. In his welcoming speech, President Kodama expressed his strong expectations for the future development of international exchange through the promotion of human exchange with Indian universities and other institutions. Mr. Ramkumar C, Consul General of India in Fukuoka, expressed “The Consulate General of India in Fukuoka was opened in April this year as a base with jurisdiction over Kyushu. Saga is close to Fukuoka and we would like to continue to actively promote exchanges. ” and expressed his desire to deepen relations in the future. The courtesy visit was conducted in a friendly atmosphere from start to finish, and at the end, President Kodama presented a traditional Arita-yaki porcelain vase from Saga Prefecture as a commemorative gift, followed by a photo session.

Prior to the courtesy visit to the President, the delegation was received in the International Exhibition Room of the Industry-Academia Exchange Plaza by Vice President (International) Prof. Dr. MISHIMA Nobuo, Assistant Professor MORISAKI Takafumi of the Institute of Ocean Energy, and Assistant Professor SRINIVASA MURTHY Sharath of the same institute. In the international exhibition room, Vice President MISHIMA and his staff explained about our university’s international exchange activities and the characteristics of its international research activities, using a world map on the wall and a mock-up of the Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) system on display.

This visit was an extremely important opportunity to expand the possibilities for international educational and research collaboration through exchanges with Indian universities and other institutions.
