Saga University Faculty of Agriculture Signs Agreement of Academic Cooperation and Exchange with Vishnu Japan Outreach Centre under Sri Vishnu Educational Society, India

On Monday, September 22, 2025, the Faculty of Agriculture, Saga University, signed an Agreement of Academic Cooperation and Exchange with the Vishnu Japan Outreach Centre (VJOC), newly established under the Sri Vishnu Educational Society (SVES) in India.

VJOC was just established on Saturday, September 20, and the signing of this agreement took place immediately following its inauguration.

At the signing ceremony, Dr. Akihiro Suzuki, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, and Dr. Yukio Nagano from the same faculty, together with Sri K.V. Vishnu Raju, Chairman of SVES, Sri Ravichandran Rajagopal, Vice Chairman of SVES, Dr. Sanjay Dubey, Principal, Dr. Raju Aedla, Centre Head of VJOC, and Dr. Ramesh Alluri, Pharmacy Principal, were in attendance. Chairman Vishnu Raju signed the agreement on behalf of VJOC.

Until now, Saga University had no formal agreement with research and educational institutions in India, despite the country’s remarkable recent development. This agreement therefore marks a significant step forward, filling that gap and laying the foundation for stronger international collaboration in the future.

Through this agreement, the two institutions will begin full-scale activities such as student exchanges, promotion of joint research, and researcher exchanges. In particular, they aim to deepen collaboration in life sciences, a strong research area of the Faculty of Agriculture, while expanding in the future toward university-wide academic exchange.

This agreement builds upon the ongoing joint research and student–researcher exchanges that Professor Nagano has pursued with SVES researchers since 2024. It is expected to make a major contribution to scientific and technological advancement, human resource development, and the strengthening of international research networks between the two countries.

Saga University will continue to promote international collaboration with India and other parts of Asia, striving for further development of education and research as a globally open university.
