　佐賀大学経済学部では、提携先のカセサート大学経済学部（タイ）よりNavarat Temsumrit講師をお招きして、経済学・経営学セミナーを開催します。セミナーでは、「高齢化と産業構造の変化」という題目で、高齢化が国の産業構造に与える影響について、1960年から2018年までの59か国のデータを分析した結果を報告していただきます。どなたでも無料で参加できますので、奮ってご参加下さい。

“Aging and Structural Transformation”
「高齢化と産業構造の変化」

Aging has become a phenomenon many countries face currently. We investigate the decomposition of sectoral employment share to answer whether the aging population can be one factor affecting a different structural transformation pattern (labor reallocations across technologically heterogeneous sectors). Our contribution lies in the effects of aging on structural transformation patterns across the country’s income level using an extended dataset of 59 countries from 1960 to 2018. We perform the panel data fixed effect to overcome countries’ heterogeneity. Our results suggest that the aging population induces employment share in the agricultural sector to move industry toward the service sector in developed economies. Moreover, in the aging situation, human capital also slows down de-agriculturalization and de-industrialization in emerging economies.

　高齢化は、現在多くの国が直面している現象です。この研究では、人口の高齢化は産業構造を変え得るのかという問いに答えるべく、高齢化に伴う部産業別就業者数の割合（技術的に異なる産業への労働の再配分）の変化を明らかにしました。この研究の貢献は、先行研究のデータセットを拡張し、1960年から2018年までの59か国のデータを用いて、高齢化が国の産業構造に与える影響を、国の所得水準ごとに検証した点にあります。パネルデータ分析では、国ごとの特性を考慮できる固定効果モデルを採用しました。分析の結果、先進国において、人口の高齢化によって、農業部門の就業者の割合が減少する一方で、サービス部門の就業者の割合が増加することが示唆されました。また、新興国において、人的資本の高齢化によって、脱農化と脱工業化が減速していることが示唆されました。
