佐賀大学理工学部4号館改修（2021年3月竣工）に伴い、1階・デザインギャラリーの一角に有田焼陶板タイル作品が設置されました。本作品は美術家・野老朝雄氏によるものであり、１枚90×90mmの陶板タイル、100段階の瑠璃色・計800 枚の有田焼の陶板を用いた、2m×2mの一対の大作です。

 

 

 

 

野 老 朝 雄（ところ・あさお）

　1969年、東京都生まれ。幼少時より建築を学び、大学卒業後、建築家／美術家の江頭慎に師事。2001年9月11日より「繋げる事」をテーマに紋様の制作を始め、美術、建築、デザイン等の境界領域で活動を続ける。単純な幾何学原理に基づいて定規やコンパスで再現可能な紋と紋様の制作をするほか、同様の原理を応用した立体物の設計／制作も行なっている。

Arita porcelain ceramic tile work by Asao Tokolo installed at Saga University
ARITA HUNDRED STEPS MANJI 2021

 

In conjunction with the renovation of the No.4 Building of Faculty of Science and Engineering, Saga University (completed in March 2021), an Arita porcelain ceramic tile work was installed in the corner of the Design Gallery on the 1st floor. The work is a pair of 2m x 2m ceramic tiles designed by artist Asao Tokolo, and consists of 800 Arita porcelain ceramic tiles, each 90 x 90mm in size and in 100 different lapis lazuli colors.

 

 

Asao Tokolo

Artist / Born in Tokyo in 1969. Studied at the AA School in London. Since September 11, 2001, he has been creating patterns with the theme of “connecting”, and continues to work in the boundary area of art, architecture, and design etc.
