　佐賀大学は、11月2日に更新した中国農業大学との大学間学術交流協定を踏まえ、11月14日から15日にかけて、三島伸雄副学長（国際担当）や鈴木章弘農学部長ら本学関係者５人が、本学が実施する戦略的パートナーシップ・プロジェクト（以下、「戦略的PSプロジェクト」という。）等の推進のため、北京を訪問しました。

　11月14日、三島副学長の訪問団は、中国農業科学院植物保護研究所の劉文徳副所長や李世訪教授等を表敬訪問し、同研究所を見学するとともに、今後の両機関における具体的な学術交流の可能性について、活発な意見交換を行いました。

　翌日の15日、同訪問団は、中国農業大学の杜太生副学長（国際）等を表敬訪問し、杜副学長から、来年、同大学の孫其信学長の本学を含む日本訪問の希望が伝えられるとともに、両大学で共同研究や人的交流などを推進させることで相互に成果を出すことの期待が述べられ、協定更新後の国際交流の促進を確認しました。

　さらに表敬訪問後、同訪問団は、本学農学部と同大学植物保護学院との今後の国際共同研究を推進させるため同学院を訪問し、三島副学長から本学の国際交流の概要説明や戦略的PSプロジェクトの紹介、鈴木農学部長から農学部の概要説明や研究紹介、また徳田誠農学部教授から、同プロジェクトによる国際共同研究の提案や意見交換を行いました。その後、同学院の昆虫博物館等を見学するとともに、今後の具体的な研究交流にかかる打合せ等も行いました。

　また同訪問団は、今回の北京訪問に併せて、日本学術振興会北京研究連絡センターの山口英幸センター長の表敬訪問を行うとともに、佐賀大学中国同窓会の李徳勝会長（北京工業大学・教授）等と今後の本学の同窓会を活用した人的ネットワークの強化等について、意見交換を行いました。

　本学としては、これらの本訪問を機に、関係機関との連携強化を図るとともに、同大学等との活発な学術交流により本学のプレゼンスや研究教育力の向上が期待されます。

※佐賀大学ビジョンプロジェクトによる事業の1つ。従来の海外との研究教育交流を基盤としつつ、先導的連携・協働プロジェクトとして、本学の教職員や学生の双方向の国際流動性を高めることにより、研究活動や学びを活性化すること等を目的としており、将来、海外大学との連携・協働により、研究教育力の向上やイノベーションの創出、持続可能な社会を構築できる人材の育成を目指す。事業期間は令和４年度から令和９年度までの６年間を予定。

　Based on the inter-university academic exchange agreement with China Agricultural University, which was renewed on November 2, Saga University had five members of the university, including Vice President (International) Mishima and Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Suzuki, visited Beijing from November 14 to 15 to promote Strategic Partnership Project (SPP) and other activities conducted by the university.

　On November 14, Vice President Mishima’s delegation paid a courtesy visit to Liu Wende, Deputy Director of the Institute of Plant Protection, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Professor Li Shifang, among others, to tour the institute and engage in a lively exchange of views on the possibility of further academic exchange between the two institutions in the future.

　The next day, on the 15th, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Du Taisheng, Vice President (International) of Agricultural University of China, who expressed his hope that President Sun Qixin will visit Japan next year, including our university, and also expressed his expectation that the two universities will promote joint research and personnel exchange to achieve mutual results.

　After the courtesy visit, the delegation visited the College of Plant Protection to promote future international joint research between the Faculty of Agriculture of Saga University and the College of Plant Protection. Vice President Mishima gave an introduction of the University’s international exchange program and the SPP, Dean Suzuki of the Faculty of Agriculture gave an introduction of its faculty, research, and Professor Tokuda of the Faculty of Agriculture proposed international joint research through this project and exchanged opinions with the delegation.

Afterwards, the participants toured the Insect Museum and other facilities of the Institute, and had discussions on specific future research exchanges.

　In conjunction with their visit to Beijing, the delegation also paid a courtesy visit on Mr. Yamaguchi, Director of the JSPS Beijing Representative Office, and exchanged views with Dr. Li Desheng, President of the Saga University China Alumni Association (Professor at Beijing University of Technology) and others on strengthening human networks utilizing the University’s alumni association in the future.

　Taking this visit as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with related organizations, and to promote the The visit is expected to enhance the university’s presence and research and education capabilities through active academic exchanges with related institutions.

*The Strategic Partnership Project (SPP) is one of the projects under the Saga University Vision Project. While building on the existing research and educational exchanges with overseas universities, the project aims to activate research activities and learning by enhancing the interactive international mobility of the university’s faculty, staff, and students as a leading partnership and collaboration project. In the future, the project aims to improve research and education capabilities, create innovation, and develop human resources capable of building a sustainable society through collaboration with overseas universities. The project is expected to run for six years, from fiscal year 2022 to fiscal year 2027.
