On 5 March, 2024, Saga University received a courtesy visit from Umi Salwana, director of “FROM SAGA, WITH LOVE,” a Malaysian drama set in Saga, along with eight others.

　President Prof. Dr. KODAMA Hiroaki, Vice President (International) Prof. Dr. MISHIMA Nobuo, and Head of the Office for Public Relations Division Prof. Dr. OSADA Satoshi welcomed the delegation. President KODAMA delivered a welcoming speech, stating, “We are a very important partner as we have about 300 international students from Malaysia. We hope that this drama will lead to an increase in the number of Malaysians interested in Saga University.” Ms. Umi Salwana expressed her enthusiasm for the filming, saying, “In the second season, I would like to convey to the Malaysian public the appeal of Japanese academic and educational culture and Saga University by using Saga University as the setting.” Subsequently, President KODAMA presented an Arita porcelain ceramic plate, which plays an important role in the first season , as a commemorative gift. Following a photo session, the courtesy visit concluded on a friendly note.

　We hope that cooperation in this drama will broaden Saga University’s appeal to the people of Malaysia and serve as a catalyst for new international exchanges.
